Executive Reports
-President: Had presentation at Red River College regarding association and upcoming elections for the Executive. Hand outs were given out. After minor problem concerning document delivery, everything has been sent out and received for the grant. Alberta Library Tech association emailed Pam wanting information on Manitoba’s association.
- Membership: Has done an update on membership. Wants to include renewal forms in next newsletter, and just remind members whose membership has expired to renew. At this time, there are approximately 54 personal memberships, 10 institutional.
- Secretary: Nothing at this time.
- Newsletter: Not present.
- Website Designer: Will upload nomination form for elections on website.
- Treasurer: GIC matured. Has just been rolled over. Next executive might want to look at other options for it.
- Communications Coordinator: Sent out Tracy’s letter. It will be included in newsletter.
- Student Representatives: Vanessa asked what positions were opening up on the executive. All are open this year, and then vacancies will be staggered with the start of the next group. Also, wanted everyone to know their last work placement was Feb 19 – March 2.Discussion and Recommendations:
-Discussion whether to include non-technician jobs on website. Frances makes a motion that we not post shelver/page jobs on website, but rather, include links to other sites that advertise library jobs. Kathy seconds the motion. Passed.
-27 replies were received regarding the enquiry into interest into cataloguing workshop. Pam will look into a half day session, possibly in March. Will talk to Pat Routledge, enquire about cost of room rental, email interested parties, and post on website.
-Rotary Career Symposium is April 11-12. Cost of table is $350. MALT probably won’t participate this year.
Discussed student mixer. Need to make it affordable. Vanessa will ask class for suggestions and best dates.Next meeting: February 15, 2007
