MALT Meeting Minutes

Feb. 12th, 2009

Vanessa called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm.

 

Victoria and Alyssa moved to approve the agenda.

 

Fatima and Pam moved to approve the minutes from Jan. 2009.

 

Business arising out of minutes: none

 

Executive reports:

 

President: No report.

 

Vice President: No report.

 

Treasurer:

  • GIC was reinvested. Jan. 31 balance is $3323.15
  • Alyssa has new membership cards

 

Membership:

  • Jodi will send updated membership lists to Vanessa, Jonin and Hava

 

Comm. Coordinator: 

  • Jonin sent e-mails to businesses about discounts for members

 

Newsletter:

  • The newsletter is on-line

 

Website:

  • Lots of jobs being posted

 

Secretary:

  • Everyone got the minutes

 

 

RRC Student Reps.:

  • On mini-break for Term 4
  • Student wind-up -- Fatima and Vanessa will talk to Brian and Sherri

 

 

New Business:

 

AV Workshop:

  • Feb. 28 at the Millennium Library, Buchwald Room at 10 am.
  • Brian has requested that his honorarium of $100 be split between Siloam Mission and the Masonic Temple Library. 
  • He will also be given an Avon gift pack.

 

MLA Conference:

  • Our AGM is May 7 at 5:30 pm at the Delta Hotel
  • There is a Mexican pool party afterwards

 

French Book Sale:

  • Vanessa has information about hosting a sale of French materials and will look into it further

 

Library Survey: 

  • Vanessa received 114 answers back so far
  • A lot of interesting results
  • A couple of negative complaints
  • Final results will be posted on-line by end of February

 

Rotary Career Symposium:

  • We'll have a booth at the Convention Centre Mar. 11 & 12, from 9 am to 3 pm.
  • Move in Mar. 10 from 10 am - 8 pm
  • Move out Mar. 12 between 3 and 8 pm.

 

Vanessa adjourned the meeting at 6:18 pm.
